Spring has sprung!

Hi Again

Well it’s late April and the ice is finally out of Stoney Lake. Winter just didn’t seem to want to leave this year. I must admit even though being a true lover of winter having to break out the toque at the end of April is hard to take. Matt and I are busy tending to docks that were damaged with the ice this year, but kids don’t worry the new swim raft we built last year made it through the thaw just fine.

Water levels in Stoney Lake were extremely high this year with all the snow and run off. Our beach boardwalk was 2 feet under water, Beachview lower lawns were part of the lake and if water levels kept rising we could have canoed around Lakeview cottage. Thank goodness that’s all behind us now; water levels are back down and our spring clean up is well under way.

Next up Victoria Day Weekend!   This fun filled weekend is shaping up to be a busy one. We have lots of family activities in store for everyone and we are just finalizing the schedule. Check in tomorrow and I will have the recreation line up posted for all to have a peek at.

Finally Susan and I are working on some really cool contests that you will be able to enter, I can’t give away the details just yet, but keep checking in with me and you will find out very soon.

Take care

Welcome

Hi Everyone

Welcome to our newest addition to the Pine Vista Resort website . . . our very own blog. This is where you can find out the latest news and what’s happening around the resort. If everything goes ok, check in with me every week and catch up on the gossip.

This was one of our best winters yet to get out in the snow and have a blast. We would all have to think back a long time to when we have had this much snow and kept it for so long into the season.

A big THANK YOU to everyone for such an awesome March Break! Your family spirit and understanding of what a winter holiday consists of made everything a ton of fun. It was great to see some familiar faces again this year, along with some of our new families.

Our family programs this year were very well attended. It seemed to me everyone was having a lot of fun with the activities we offered. The huge piles of snow everywhere made really cool forts and slides to play on, the toboggan hill was in the best condition I have every seen, my guided ski tours kept me in shape and our Winter Carnival had the best Maple Taffy going!

For those who joined us in our nature activities and had the chance to see the horses I am proud to let you in on the latest news from the barn. It’s a girl! Yeah that’s right; on March17th at 7pm Skeeter, our grey mare, had a new foal named Patricia. She is all black with a white star and is very cute. You can check out her picture in the photo gallery.

Well that’s it for now, check in with me again and I will fill you in on what’s up and coming.

Take care and thanks again for a wonderful March Break
